Shane Filan moves to England to boost solo career after Westlife

Shane Filan has moved to England as he prepares to kickstart his solo career.
The Westlife star, 32, his wife Gillian, and three children Nicole, Patrick and Shane, moved from Sligo to Surrey during the Christmas holidays.
Although they lived for several months at a time in the Georgian-style house at Cobham, the family has decided to make it a more permanent home while Shane develops his solo career after Westlife break up following Croke Park concerts in June.

Eldest child Nicole, six, is already attending a school near the home Shane bought three years ago.
A close family friend said he and Gillian have no intention of breaking their links with Sligo and will return often and will retain their sprawling home outside the town.
The friend added: “They adore Sligo and will always regard it as their home. But Shane has realised London is the best place to be for his solo career.

"Cobham is in the London commuter-belt. He has spent so much time on the road around the world with Westlife. He wants to spend more time with his family so he and Gillian decided the best thing for now would be to move to their home outside London.

“He can concentrate on his new career and not be away from his family so much.”

Shane and Gillian can take their children to a number of parks near their new home and also to nearby Chessington World of Adventures. He can also indulge his passion for golf at Wentworth, where he has played several times.

Louis Walsh, currently on holiday at his Miami apartment until February, has already announced he will continue to manage Shane and has predicted he will be the most successful solo artist of Westlife after the band splits next summer.

Louis said he could see Shane having a career like big band singer Michael Buble.

He added: “Shane is going to be a big artist. I will only manage someone if I believe in them.”

Westlife’s Mark Feehily feels ‘lost’ following split

We were shocked when Westlife’s Mark Feehily announced during the festive period that himself and Kevin McDaid had ended their relationship.
Revealing the news on Twitter, he said, “Sadly,Kevin & I are no longer together.We've had an amazin 7yrs &are both so thankful for the love&support u have shown us from the start we won't be answering any questions about this as its a very private matter.Thanks in advance for understanding that.Lots of love,Mx”
A friend of the singer has revealed to The Mirror, “Mark really misses Kevin in his life. He's finding it really hard. He is still incredibly upset and raw about the split. He wants time to get over his split and doesn't want any other guys on the scene.
“He's trying to keep his chin up but he has good days and bad days. He's not at all over Kevin yet. Mark's family have been rallying around and he has some great friends too. But he's also spending a lot of time on his own just trying to come to terms with it all. He's very emotional.
"Kevin and Mark still text the odd time to keep in touch. There is no feud or bad feeling between them. But obviously they are both trying to start over again and adjust to life on their own. Mark just isn't ready to speak about it publicly yet. He's too upset about the whole thing but in time he'll talk."
The friend  also quoted Mark as saying, "I couldn't even stand the thought of being with anyone else. There's no chance. I'm totally lost without Kevin."

Westlife Mark Feehily 'totally lost' after fiancé Kevin McDaid split

Westlife singer Mark Feehily has reportedly said that he feels "totally lost" after separating from fiancé Kevin McDaid.

The 'Lighthouse' star told friends that he has no desire to date again after ending his ten-month engagement on New Year's Eve, according to The Mirror.

"I couldn't even stand the thought of being with anyone else," he is quoted as telling a friend. "There's no chance. I'm totally lost without Kevin."

The source added: "Mark really misses Kevin in his life. He's finding it really hard. He is still incredibly upset and raw about the split. He wants time to get over his split and doesn't want any other guys on the scene.

The former couple are believed to have ended their relationship on good terms and remain in contact as they try to "start over".

Feehily revealed his relationship with McDaid upon coming out as gay in 2005.

Westlife are set to part ways after a farewell tour in May.
